The inspiration of this new idea comes from the need to give a new life to a project that I worked on, in 2020 “Narciso”. What excites me the most is to have the chance to develop and explore through more bodies not only the meaning of the myth but also the chance to break boundaries connected to the image that the myth left to all of us. More bodies on stage for the need to research on diferent layers the relations between the self and the others. Four bodies can be four diferent bodies but they can also move in unison becoming one, one can be the refection of the other, or it can simply be a copy himself.
The creation will be inspired by the myth of Narciso, a cruel being who disdains every person who loves him and who, punished by the gods, falls into the lake in love with his own image.
Narcissus: a metaphor for our times where hedonism and individualism are predominant, where the image and its modifcation are the flter with which to present oneself. In my version, of course, there is falling in love and being struck by oneself, but these feelings transit towards an introspective observation of the person. The mirror, as a means of showing oneself to the world, will become the gateway through which one can access one’s own fragile and precious eality which, while refecting an image so beautiful as to enchant. Narcissus himself, becomes at the same time a refexive reality from which one must fee and fnd a way toshow oneself to others for what it really is: a vulnerable and at time obscure soul far from the pleasantness of its appearance.
